Our Programs and Curriculum
Play let’s children develop at their own pace.
We believe learning in early childhood is through play, so we provide lots of opportunities to explore different forms of play.
To children, play is important and it’s their ‘work’ just as you have yours.
They’re quite right. Our program makes play purposeful and goal-centred, so they learn without being aware of it.
Play allows each child to grow at their own rate and make exciting discoveries about themselves and the world around them.
In the broader context of our curriculum, we recognise the importance of the parental role and our primary focus is on the individual child within the context of his/her family.
Our beliefs about learning
Our program is based on these principles:
- Children are unique individuals who have different ideas, skills and perspectives on life and learning
- Every child should be valued and nurtured at every stage of learning
- Every activity should be driven by the needs of the child and provoke their curiosity and natural desire to learn
- Learning programs should be flexible enough to adapt to the evolving needs of the child
On the following pages you can find out more about the EYLF and the National Quality Standard which we’re guided by in our program design.
